Domenic’s Cafe, Watford (04/08/2019)

Outside of Domenic's Cafe

In the middle of the Hornets roundabout is a pedestrian zone with cafes and shops. At one end is Domenic’s Cafe, run by the same Italian family since 1983.

Lasagne and salad

We went for lunch and had the lasagne and salad with a kid’s ice cream and fruit for pudding. The lasagne was very tasty and the side salad was a bit more than a side with beetroot and cut gherkins to go with it. Our son enjoyed the fruit and ice-cream and it was nice to sit outside on a hot and sunny day.

Ice cream and fruit

Domenic and Frankie (his son) were very friendly and helped set up the high chair outside for us. We had fun people-watching whilst eating our food. We tried to tip at the end and found out that all tips go to Macmillan Cancer Research instead. All in all, it was a feel-good experience! Let’s hope the cafe stays in the family for the next generation.

Here’s a link to their Facebook page.

Yesss! We’ve been to Domenic’s for sausage sandwiches after stints at Harwood’s playground. Well worth the walk.
