Wrest Park (14/05/17)

Wrest Park is an English Heritage property about 45 minutes drive from Watford and makes for a great family day out.

We started with a picnic in the play area, which is free to use. The equipment posed a bit of a problem for our son as he was a bit too big and adventurous for the toddler stuff and too small for the other stuff, so we didn’t spend too long there before setting off to explore the grounds – not a criticism of the playground, just that our son wasn’t the right age to do it justice.

We used our Gardeners’ World 2-for-1 card to get reduced entry for us and our toddler got in for free (kids under 5 get in free). An added bonus was that our son was allowed to use his beloved push bike in the grounds (they don’t allow bikes with pedals) so he was happy to scoot about for quite a long time before tiredness hit.

The grounds are stunning and we really enjoyed wandering around before treating ourselves to an ice cream and a final visit to the playground before heading home.  We’d definitely like to go again.
