Here’s a useful find: the café at West Herts College is open on Saturdays and has spacious seating areas outside in the foyer (to the left and right of the picture below, as well as inside the café itself). It’s great for grabbing a coffee if you’re that end of town at the weekend (it’s next to the swimming pool) and need space to park your buggy.

We didn’t have time to stick around and try the sandwiches and cakes, but the café is inexpensive in general and gives a discount if you have a student card.

On the Saturday morning we visited, the college was putting on a Theatre Train drama class for children (including toddlers aged 3+), as well as a PQA drama session for teenagers – so lots going on for kids too.
