Tarboush, Market Street (30/07/16)

We’d been to Lebanese restaurant Tarboush once before, but not with our son, and fancied a tasty, inexpensive meal out as a family. Again, the experience was wonderful, and the staff could not have been more accommodating.

We had four meze dishes between us – lamb arayes (see the pic below), halloumi, hummus, the house salad with chicken and some flatbread – and that was more than enough to fill us up.

The restaurant is unlicensed but you can take in your own beer and wine for £2 per person corkage (there’s an off licence and cash machine a couple of doors down).

The staff are friendly and extremely knowledgable about their food. We arrived around 5.30pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy, but was getting so an hour later. It’s an extremely popular destination in Watford – as their Tripadvisor page testifies.

Delicious Lebanese food (clockwise from top-left): arayes (the lamb one – we’ve also had it filled with cheese and is equally tasty), hummus, flatbread, house salad with chicken.
