Watford toddler activities (25/06/17)

We live in WD18 and have tried a few toddler activities nearby and a little further afield. Here’s a rundown of the things we’ve tried so far.

Mondays, St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, toddler group

Every Monday (except bank holidays) St. Michael and All Angels’ Church run a toddler group between 10-11.30am. Mr New To Watford takes our son every week and absolutely loves it.

Tuesdays, St. Mary’s Church, toddler group

When I used to have Tuesdays off, I used to go to this toddler group.  It runs 9.30-11.30am and has a large space with lots of toys and painting every week.

Fridays, Hartbeeps, Happy House session

We were lucky to get a spot in the Happy House Friday morning session for a couple of terms and enjoyed our sessions with Jeanette. They involve singing, role-plays and dressing up and it was great to visit the playground and Cafe Cha before and/or after the session.

Fridays, Dolphina Gymnastics, drop-in and ‘Me and my shadow’ sessions

Tucked away on an industrial estate near Watford North train station is Dolphina Gymnastics. They run drop-in sessions (9.15-10.15am) and a more structured session (11.15-12pm) on Friday mornings. Our son loves bombing around the equipment and running up and down the long trampoline!

Fridays, West Watford Community Association,  toddler group

We went to a session on a Friday morning and they were very friendly. Our son was two and a half when we went and I’d say it was aimed at kids who were slightly younger.

Fridays, St. James Road Baptist Church, toddler group

The St. James Road Baptist Church run a toddler group on Monday and Friday mornings, during term time and we’ve been along to a Friday session. It’s a great space as it has four different areas for the kids to use: the main hall, a side room with train tracks and books, a painting room and an outdoor space (with covered area) – plenty of variety to keep them occupied!
